Hello Cub Pack 375!
Friday evening we will be having a den meeting at Hillcrest Elementary School at 7:30PM. Please try to arrive early as we will be starting promptly at 7:30PM. The new rules of no running around the gym prior/after the meetings are still in effect.
We will have a special visitor at the pack meeting from Friends of Scouting. They are part of a volunteer organization that helps with fundraising for the Cradle of Liberty Council, whom we are under. Please see the attached document for their information letter. They *will* be asking for monetary donations at the pack meeting. Please do not feel obligated to donate unless you want to.
Saturday will be our Scout Day at the National Constitution Center. It is from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, try to arrive early so you can find parking, etc. You must be preregistered for this event. Scouts should come in full uniforms. Lunch is available for purchase at the center, or you may bring your own brown bag lunch. The cost is $12/adult.
And remember – the Blue & Gold picnic will be held next Saturday, March 27th from 10AM – 2PM at Newlin Grist Mill Park.
We are looking for donations/prizes to raffle off at the event. Please contact local businesses to see if they would like to donate items to be raffled off at the Blue & Gold Picnic. Sample items that were donated last year included: portable chair massager, die cast replica model cars, autographed sports memorabilia, gift certificates, wireless routers, vaccum cleaners, and more! Please go and ask your local businesses to see if they are willing to donate anything – all proceeds will go towards the pack to support our events and other pack costs.
Hello Cub Pack 375,
We hope everyone had a GREAT time at the 2010 Pinewood Derby! The Russell family was nice enough to put together a picture slideshow from the event. You can see the slideshow here: http://www.dhcubpack375.org/?p=272
If anyone else has pictures from the Pinewood Derby, or any past even Cub Pack 375 Event (from any year), please contact me at tchin@cltechsolutions.com and I will help get them posted on the website.
Friday’s Pack Meeting will start PROMPTLY at 7:30PM. Please remember the new rules – there is no horseplay/running around in the gym before/after the meeting, and parents/guardians must accompany their scouts at all times. The pack meeting is tentativley scheduled for the Hillcrest Elementary School Gym, however, there may be a change of location due to a scheduling conflict for the gym. If there is – we will send out another e mail and call everyone.
The Blue Mountain Ski/Snow Tubing trip is scheduled for next Saturday, February 26th. There will be packages available for skiing, skiing & lessons, snow tubing, or a combination of everything. Ms. Chiaffa will have all of the details on the packages available & pricing at the pack meeting. She asked that EVERYONE interested to bring your check book that evening, as we need to purchase the tickets this weekend. She apologizes that we don’t have all of the necessary information from Blue Mountain for our group discount yet, but she will have all info by the Pack meeting.
For those unfamiliar with Blue Mountain – here is their website: http://www.skibluemt.com/SkiBlue/index.aspx This event is open to EVERYONE (family, friends, etc).
Have a great week everybody!
Hello Cub Pack 375!
This Friday’s den meeting will be geared towards building the pinewood derby cars as well. The goal is to get the wheels & weights on the car.
You must purchase the weights for your car yourself. We recommend purchasing the weight from Hobby Town USA. It is located at: 101 South Bishop Ave, right next to the Home Depot on Baltimore Pike in Secane. There will be a scale to weigh your car at the den meeting on Friday. Remember, if you decidde to paint, color, or add decals onto the car after weighing it, these items DO add weight to the car. The weights to purchase can be found at this link: http://tinyurl.com/ycpkl4u The 2oz to 3oz weight packs will be more than sufficient – no need to spend the extra money on the heavier weight packs.
The FINAL candy sale for this season will be on Saturday from 12PM – 5PM at the Super Fresh in Manoa Shopping Center. If you have not volunteered at a candy sale yet, please sign up at Friday’s den meeting for a 1 hour time slot.
Friday evening will be the Wings’ lacrosse game at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Money is DUE NOW if you still owe money. Please contact Sam Chiaffa at (610) 348-6569. There will be a MEET & GREET with the Wings’ players BEFORE the game from 5:30-6:00PM. Please meet in the MAIN BOX office on the BROAD STREET side of the Wachovia Center at 5:15PM so that the meet & greet/Q&A can start promptly at 5:30PM. If you plan on attending the meet & greet, please let us know by ***tomorrow morning*** so they can reserve your spot at the meet & greet.
ONE ticket is still available for the game if anyone has a friend that would like to come. The cost is $23. Please contact Sam Chiaffa at (610) 348-6569 if you are interested in the final ticket.
As Rich just mentioned, the Open Leaders & Parents meeting is rescheduled for tonight at 7PM at the Riverview Presbyterian Church, instead of tomorrow evening.
